About Us

We are the Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty

The MSUAASF (or ASF for short) union exists for the benefit of its members. Thanks to fair and firm negotiations with the Minnesota State system, union benefits have steadily improved over our 40+ year history. We are the employee association representing non-teaching faculty who serve in professional positions at the seven state universities within the Minnesota State system.

Our members work in academic and student-oriented departments such as admissions, advising, cultural diversity, financial aid, fundraising, grants, health services, institutional research, intramurals, program administration, records, residential life, student affairs, student services, student union and sports information. We are often the primary contacts for students enrolling at university campuses in Bemidji, Mankato, Marshall, Moorhead, St. Cloud, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Winona.

ASF is dedicated to the recruitment and retention of students, the promotion of excellence in learning and to students achieving educational and personal success. We take pride in our professionalism, our publication, our awards and the recognition we receive in our fields.

ASF is represented by the Teamsters Local 320, a division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

About Teamsters Local 320

Teamsters Local 320’s mission is to provide the benefit of unionism to all workers, and to protect and preserve the benefits obtained for members of this organization. We shall safeguard, advance, and promote the principles of free collective bargaining, citizen organizing, workers’ rights, and the security and welfare of all people through political action, education, and other community activities. Together we will defend public employees against any and all attacks!

For more than a century, the Teamsters Union has helped millions of workers achieve the American Dream. Our success is a testament to those who came before us, who stood together to form a union and a labor movement. These workers fought for the rights and privileges that today most Americans take for granted. Without the solidarity of unions, there would be no weekends, no pensions and no health insurance.

The best way to celebrate Teamster history is to highlight the actions and events that improved working and living standards for American families and communities.

Learning about the struggles and victories of the past will help union leaders, members and nonmembers alike appreciate the contributions Teamsters made not only to labor history but to American history.
