FY 2015 Appointment Notices

Article 10, Section C of the current collective bargaining agreement requires that at the beginning of each fiscal year that each MSUAASF bargaining unit member is issued an appointment notice that outlines his/her salary, salary range, title, type of appointment, starting and ending dates of the appointment, full or part-time status (if part-time, percentage of full-time will be shown), probationary months worked, if any, payment option, soft money designation, and any other relevant special conditions of employment, if any, such as “live-in” requirements and applicable rental charges for residence hall staff.  It is normally expected that management will issue these notices prior to or right after July 1 of each year.

As you are aware, we are currently in the process of having the agreement for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2015  which was recently ratified by our members, as well as the MnSCU Board of Trustees, going through the approval process in the Legislature.  It is expected that the approval by the required Legislative Committee will come by the middle of August at the latest.

It is our expectation that the new agreement will be approved and implemented before Labor Day.

With those dates in mind, MnSCU has requested that MSUAASF agree to a delay in the issuance of FY 2015 appointment notices this year so that only 1 set of notices will need to be issued.  MSUAASF has agreed to that request.  It is our understanding that the notices have already been issued at Bemidji and St. Cloud.  Updated notices will be issued once the new agreement is fully approved.  It is also our understanding that the notices will be delayed and will be issued by Labor Day at Mankato, Metropolitan, Moorhead, Southwest, and Winona.

Once issued, members are encouraged to verify that the information is accurate and to inform your Campus Association and Human Resources Office if there are any errors.

Please contact your Campus Association President if you have any questions.
